Bird Control & Prevention

Birds are great in the backyard and a problem in your dryer vent. Nests in vents, chimneys, soffits, gutters, signs and loading docks can block airflow, create fire hazards, damage buildings and leave droppings behind. Precision Wildlife Removal removes birds and nests, cleans up, and installs deterrents so they don’t come back. We serve homes and businesses. Call (888) 346-8228, 24/7.

Common bird problems we fix

  • Birds in dryer vents and bath or kitchen exhaust vents. Nests block airflow, and a blocked dryer vent is a fire risk.
  • Nests in soffits, gable vents and attics. Starlings and sparrows are especially good at finding small openings.
  • Birds in chimneys.
  • Pigeons and other birds roosting on ledges, signs, rooftop units and loading docks at commercial properties. Droppings make sidewalks slippery and look bad to customers.
  • Woodpecker damage to siding and trim.

How we handle bird control

Inspection

We identify the species, find where the birds are getting in or roosting, and check for active nests. The inspection and estimate are free.

Nest and bird removal

We remove birds and nesting material from vents, soffits and attics. Many native songbirds are protected by federal law, along with their active nests, so the species and timing determine what we can do and when. We’ll explain your options. Non-native species such as house sparrows, European starlings and pigeons aren’t protected the same way.

Cleaning and sanitizing

Bird droppings and nesting debris can carry mites and disease. We clean and sanitize the affected areas. Larger attic messes are covered by our attic restoration and cleanup service.

Prevention and deterrents

Most bird problems repeat unless the access point is closed or the roost is made unusable. Depending on the building, we use vent guards and covers, screening, and sealing of soffit and fascia gaps. See wildlife exclusion and prevention.

Bird control for businesses

Birds roosting on signs, rooflines and entrances can create health, safety and appearance problems for stores, warehouses, restaurants and multi-unit buildings. We work around your business hours and can set up ongoing service. See commercial wildlife control.

Bird control FAQs

Can you remove a nest with eggs or babies?

That depends on the species. Many native birds and their active nests are federally protected, so we may need to wait until the young have left before removing the nest and sealing the opening. House sparrows, starlings and pigeons are not protected that way. We’ll identify the bird and tell you what’s allowed.

How do I know if birds are in my dryer vent?

Chirping near the vent, nesting material sticking out of the exterior flap, a flap that won’t close, or clothes taking longer to dry are all signs. Call us before using the dryer heavily.

Will a plastic owl scare birds away?

Usually only for a short time. Birds get used to decoys quickly. Closing the access point or removing the roosting surface lasts longer.

How much does bird control cost?

It depends on the building, the number of access points and the type of deterrent. The inspection and estimate are free.
