What counts as a wildlife emergency?
- A bat in your living space, especially in a bedroom or anywhere a person or pet may have had contact with it.
- An animal that has broken into the living space through a ceiling, wall, fireplace or vent.
- An animal trapped inside your home, garage, basement or business.
- Babies crying in an attic, wall or chimney after the mother has been removed or hasn’t come back.
- A wild animal acting strangely near people or pets: aggressive, wobbling or unafraid.
- A wild animal in a commercial space during business hours.
A real emergency call
One customer’s brother, who was battling health problems, had been hearing noises in his attic for days. Another company told him it was mice and put down poison. Then, at about 8:30 on a Saturday night, he found a hole punched through his living room ceiling. His sister called us. Justin came right out, went up in the attic and on the roof, and found the culprit: a squirrel. In her words: “He reassured my brother and came up with a great solution to this problem. This company is efficient, fast, friendly, and really professional.”
What to do while you wait for us
If there’s a bat in the house
- If no one had contact with it: close interior doors to confine it to one room, turn off the lights, and open a window to the outside.
- If you woke up with a bat in the room, or it was near a child, a pet, or anyone who can’t say for sure they weren’t touched: don’t let it go. It may need rabies testing. Call your local health department or doctor, and call us. See bat removal.
If an animal is loose in the house
- Get people and pets out of the room and close the door.
- Don’t try to corner or catch it.
- Open an exterior door or window in that room if you can do it safely.
- Call (888) 346-8228.
If you hear babies
Don’t seal the opening or try to remove them yourself. The mother may be nearby and will try to get back in. See raccoon removal.
If you see an animal acting sick
Keep everyone away and call us or your local animal control.
