Attic Restoration & Cleanup After Wildlife
Getting the animal out is only half the job. Bats, rodents, squirrels, raccoons and birds leave droppings, urine, nesting material and flattened or torn insulation behind. That mess can smell, attract insects and other animals, and hold bacteria, parasites and fungal spores. Precision Wildlife Removal cleans and restores attics after wildlife so your home is healthy and protected again. Call (888) 346-8228 for a free inspection.

Signs your attic needs cleanup
- Odor coming through ceilings, light fixtures or the attic hatch, especially in warm weather.
- Droppings and latrine areas on the insulation or attic floor.
- Insulation that’s matted, tunneled, flattened or stained. Damaged insulation doesn’t insulate well, so your heating and cooling bills can go up.
- Nesting material such as leaves, sticks or shredded insulation in corners and soffits.
- Stains on the ceiling below where animals were living.
Health risks of animal waste in attics
Animal waste isn’t just unpleasant. Raccoon droppings can carry raccoon roundworm. Bat guano can harbor the fungus that causes histoplasmosis. Rodent and bird droppings carry their own bacteria and parasites (see rodent removal). Disturbing it without the right protective equipment can put particles into the air. Don’t do this job yourself with a shop vac and a dust mask.
Our attic restoration process
1. Make sure the animals are gone
Cleanup comes after removal and exclusion. Otherwise you’re cleaning an attic that’s still in use. See raccoon, squirrel, bat and bird removal.
2. Assess the damage
We document the condition of the insulation, the extent of contamination, and any damage to wood, vents, wiring or ducts. You get a clear estimate before we start.
3. Remove waste and contaminated material
Technicians in protective gear remove droppings, nesting debris and contaminated insulation.
4. Sanitize and deodorize
We treat the affected areas to neutralize odors and the pheromones that draw other animals to the same spot.
5. Replace insulation
Once the attic is clean, new insulation brings back its energy efficiency.
6. Seal it up
We make sure every entry point is closed so the new insulation stays clean. See wildlife exclusion and prevention.
Is attic cleanup covered by insurance?
Sometimes. Some homeowners’ policies cover damage caused by certain animals, but many exclude it. We can provide photos and documentation of the damage and our work for your insurance claim. Check your policy or ask your agent.

Attic restoration FAQs
Do I really need to replace the insulation?
Not always. If contamination is limited to a small area, spot removal may be enough. If the insulation is soaked with urine, full of droppings or badly compressed, replacing it is the only way to get rid of the odor and restore its R-value. We’ll show you what we find.
How long does attic cleanup take?
It depends on the size of the attic and how much material needs to come out. Your technician will give you a timeline with the estimate.
Can I stay in my home during the cleanup?
In most cases, yes. We work in the attic and contain the work area.
How much does attic restoration cost?
Cost depends on square footage, the amount of contamination, and whether insulation is replaced. Inspection and estimate are free.
