Professional Animal Trapping
Sometimes the best way to get a nuisance animal off your property is a trap, set by someone who knows where, how and when to set it. Precision Wildlife Removal provides professional live trapping for raccoons, skunks, squirrels and other nuisance wildlife across Southeast and mid-Michigan. Our work is 100% humane, and we never use poison. Trapping is one tool in a full plan that also includes sealing the entry points, so the problem doesn’t keep coming back. Call (888) 346-8228, 24/7.

When trapping is the right tool
Trapping isn’t always the answer. For bats, for example, one-way exclusion is the correct method, and trapping isn’t used. We recommend trapping when:
- An animal is denning under a deck, porch, shed or slab and a one-way door isn’t practical.
- An animal is inside a living space, garage or basement and needs to be removed now.
- A raccoon, skunk or groundhog keeps coming back to the yard, garbage or garden.
- A one-way exclusion door won’t work because of the building’s layout.

How our trapping service works
1. Inspection and identification
We confirm what animal you’re dealing with from tracks, droppings, damage and entry points. Setting the wrong trap in the wrong spot wastes days. The inspection is free.
2. Trap placement
We choose the right trap size and type and place it on the animal’s travel path, at the den entrance or the entry point. Traps are placed to avoid catching pets or non-target animals.
3. Monitoring
Traps get checked regularly so animals aren’t left sitting for long.
4. Removal
We remove the trapped animal and handle it in line with Michigan regulations.
5. Seal the entry point
Removing one animal doesn’t stop the next one if the opening is still there. We follow up with exclusion and repairs so the space is closed for good.
Why not rent a trap and do it yourself?
- Wrong animal. DIY traps catch neighborhood cats, opossums and skunks as often as the animal you wanted.
- Babies left behind. Trapping a mother in spring can leave young stranded in your attic or wall.
- Safety. A trapped raccoon or skunk is scared and defensive. Skunks and bats are the main rabies carriers in Michigan, and any wild mammal can carry it.
- Regulations. Michigan has rules about trapping and moving wildlife. We follow them.
- The hole is still there. Without exclusion work, another animal moves in.

Animal trapping FAQs
How long does trapping take?
Some animals are caught the first night, and others take several days. It depends on the animal and how much other food is around. We’ll keep you updated.
Will you catch my cat?
We place and bait traps to target the animal we’re after and to reduce the chance of catching pets. Keeping pets indoors during trapping helps.
How much does trapping cost?
It depends on the animal, the number of visits and any exclusion work. We give a free estimate after the inspection.
