Signs of raccoons in your home
- Heavy thumping or walking sounds in the attic, usually at night. Raccoons are much louder than squirrels or mice.
- Torn or pushed-in soffits, roof vents or fascia boards, or shingles peeled back at a roof edge.
- Chirping or crying from the attic or chimney in spring. That’s usually a litter of kits.
- Trampled or torn insulation and latrine areas (piles of droppings) in the attic.
